Nestled in the remote Maloti Mountains, this UNESCO World Heritage site is celebrated for its rugged sandstone rock formations, alpine flora, and high-altitude wildlife. Visitors can spot rare endemic bird species such as the bearded vulture and Cape vulture, alongside small mammals and unique aquatic life in its pristine mountain streams.
Access. Accessible primarily 4x4 vehicles from Qacha's Nek or via guided horseback and hiking treks from local lodges.
Notes. Weather in the mountains can change rapidly; high-altitude preparation is essential.

Situated in the breathtaking Leribe highlands, this protected park features Lesotho's indigenous wooded gorges and rare high-altitude forest habitats. It is an important sanctuary for various endemic bird species, mountain reptiles, and small mammals thriving along the clear waters of the Hololo River.
Access. Reached via paved roads from Leribe followed by access roads suitable for standard vehicles to the park lodge.
Notes. Great destination for guided nature walks and birdwatching excursions.
