Lake Chad Wetlands

Manda National Park

Located in southern Chad, this park is known for its diverse woodland savanna and riverine habitats along the Chari River. It is a significant destination for birdwatchers and those interested in seeing antelope species and smaller predators in a less-visited wilderness setting.
Access. Accessible primarily by 4x4 vehicles from Sarh; visitors should arrange local guides familiar with the park's interior trails.
Notes. Infrastructure is minimal; visitors must be self-sufficient or travel with an organized expedition team.
Zakouma National Park

As one of the most successful conservation stories in Africa, Zakouma is a premier destination for viewing large herds of elephants, giraffes, and lions. The park's vast floodplains and diverse savanna habitats offer an authentic, remote safari experience in the heart of the Sahel.
Access. Access is via light aircraft charter from N'Djamena or by 4x4 vehicle; visitors must stay in designated lodges and use professional park-guided game drives.
