The vibe
Observing wildlife here feels like a slow-motion river journey where you are constantly scanning the tangled mangroves for the flash of a proboscis monkey or a crocodile. The activity is best enjoyed during the cooler, drier months when animals are more active along the water's edge. It is a highly organized affair, with most visitors joining small boat tours that feel intimate despite the presence of other travelers.

Brunei's premier pristine rainforest reserve is a sanctuary for diverse wildlife including hornbills, gibbons, and rare endemic insects. Visitors navigate the dense jungle canopy via iconic suspension bridges and boardwalks to spot elusive birds and mammals in their natural habitat.
Access. Accessible by longboat (tempurong) from the town of Bandar Seri Begawan via Temburong District, followed by a park registration and guided river trek.
Notes. Guided tours are mandatory for entering the park interior. Best visited during the drier months, though tropical rain can occur year-round.
