Wellness in Kyrgyzstan
Including Altyn Arashan and Jyrgalan Valley. On the map.
The vibe
Rest here comes from soaking in mineral-rich, piping-hot thermal waters bubbling up inside Soviet-era sanatoriums tucked away in pine-forested alpine gorges. Winter is the most atmospheric time for this, sitting in steaming outdoor pools while fat snowflakes drift down onto your shoulders. The vibe is delightfully retro, communal, and straightforward, focused on old-school therapeutic recovery rather than luxury spa pampering.
