Wellness in Greenland

Wellness in Greenland

Including Uunartoq Hot Springs. On the map.

The vibe

Wellness here is raw and elemental, centered on finding warmth in natural geothermal pools tucked away in the wild landscape. It is best experienced in the shoulder seasons when the contrast between the freezing air and the steaming water is at its most intense. The trip feels entirely DIY, as you are responsible for your own journey to these remote spots without any polished spa amenities.

Located on an uninhabited island in Southern Greenland, these are the only naturally heated hot springs in the country that are warm enough to bathe in. Travelers come here to soak in the pristine, mineral-rich waters while surrounded by icebergs and dramatic mountain scenery.

Access. Accessible by boat tour from Qaqortoq or Narsaq; typically visited as a day trip.

Notes. The site is remote with minimal facilities; visitors should bring their own towels and gear. Best visited during the summer months when boat access is reliable.
