Surfing is not a viable activity here, as the geography and surrounding shipping traffic make consistent, rideable waves non-existent. The sheltered nature of the coastline keeps the water far too flat for any board sports. You will find no surf culture or rental shops catering to this desire.

Eastern Beach offers a unique sandy expanse right next to the airport runway, catching reliable wind swells for local wind-sports enthusiasts. While predominantly known for kite and wingfoil potential when easterly Levanter winds blow, it provides an accessible local playground.
Access. Easily reached on foot or by local bus from Gibraltar city center, situated on the eastern side of the Rock near the Spanish border.
Notes. Proximity to the Gibraltar International Airport means activity is strictly regulated around flight schedules.
