Batumi's main urban beach is a popular spot for wingfoiling and kiteboarding due to the consistent thermal winds that develop along the coast. While wave surfing is limited to specific swell windows, the area has a vibrant water-sports community with accessible rental facilities.
Access. Located directly in the city center of Batumi. Equipment rental and wingfoil instruction are available through local water-sports clubs situated along the boulevard.
Notes. Crowded during summer months; be mindful of swimmers in designated zones.
Shekvetili Beach

This Black Sea beach offers consistent, gentle beach breaks that are ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers looking for a relaxed vibe. The sandy bottom and long stretches of coastline provide plenty of space for those learning to surf or practice wingfoiling during the breezy afternoons.
Access. Located between Kobuleti and Ureki, it is easily accessible by car from Batumi. Local surf schools operate seasonally on the beach, offering board rentals and introductory lessons.
Notes. Best surfing conditions occur during autumn and winter swells; summer is mostly flat but suitable for wingfoiling.
