Lake Tana offers a unique high-altitude freshwater setting for wind-powered sports, with consistent afternoon thermal winds. It is increasingly becoming a destination for adventurous wingfoilers looking for flat-water conditions in a scenic, historic landscape.
Access. Accessible via boat from the city of Bahir Dar; local tour operators are beginning to support water-sports equipment transport for visitors.
