The vibe
Surfing is essentially non-existent here, as the geography does not produce the consistent swells required for the sport. You will not find a scene, gear rentals, or waves worth traveling for. It is best to look elsewhere if catching a break is the primary goal of your trip.

The coastal waters off Kep are increasingly utilized for wingfoiling due to the reliable thermal winds that develop along the coastline. The area provides a unique, quiet setting for riders who prefer flat-water conditions over wave breaks.
Access. Located a short drive from Kampot or Kep town; equipment is occasionally available through seasonal pop-up kite and wing schools operating on the main beach.
Notes. Check with local kite schools in Kampot as they often organize trips to these specific coastal zones.
O Tres Beach, Koh Rong Samloem

This secluded bay on Koh Rong Samloem has emerged as a nascent spot for wingfoiling and kiteboarding, benefiting from consistent seasonal winds. It offers a calm, shallow-water environment perfect for beginners and intermediate riders looking to escape the crowds.
Access. Accessible by ferry from Sihanoukville to Koh Rong Samloem; local guesthouses and seasonal water-sport operators provide wingfoil and kite equipment rentals.
Notes. Best wind conditions occur during the northeast monsoon (November to March).
