The vibe
The waves here are modest but consistent, offering a relaxed learning environment. The best surf conditions are in the winter months when swells are steady. Surfing spots are rarely crowded, and most visitors are locals or returning travelers, creating a laid-back atmosphere.

This high-altitude reservoir serves as the primary hub for wind-powered water sports in Bolivia. The consistent thermal winds make it a popular destination for local and visiting kiteboarders looking for flat-water conditions.
Access. Located about 20 minutes from Cochabamba city, the lake is easily accessible by taxi or local transport. Several local water sports clubs operate on the shores, providing equipment storage and basic instruction.
Notes. Water temperatures are cool due to the altitude; a full wetsuit is recommended. Wind is most reliable during the afternoon.

Lake Titicaca offers unique high-altitude wingfoiling opportunities against the backdrop of the Andes. The expansive, deep waters provide enough space for riders to harness the steady winds found in the bays near Copacabana.
Access. Travelers can reach Copacabana by bus from La Paz. Local tour operators in the town can assist with logistics for accessing the lake, though specialized wingfoil gear should be brought as rental infrastructure is limited.
Notes. High altitude requires caution with physical exertion. The water is very cold year-round.
