A popular stretch of coastline south of Lima known for its consistent rocky points and kelp forests. It is a favorite among local spearfishermen for targeting reef-dwelling fish in relatively accessible conditions.
Access. Easily accessible by car from Lima. Most spearfishing is done via shore entry or by hiring local fishermen to drop you off at nearby rocky points.
Notes. Recreational spearfishing is permitted; ensure you are not fishing in protected port areas or designated swimming zones. No specific license is required for tourists, but standard size and bag limits apply.
Lobos de Afuera Islands

Located well offshore, these islands provide some of the clearest water and most prolific marine life in Peru. The deep drop-offs and currents attract larger pelagic species, making it a premier destination for experienced hunters.
Access. Access requires a long boat transit from the mainland, typically organized through specialized fishing charters in coastal hubs like Chiclayo or Pimentel. This is a remote, expedition-style trip.
