Notes. A valid Cyprus fishing license is required. Certain marine reserves and turtle nesting beaches within the Akamas National Forest Park enforce strict no-take zones; verify seasonal closures and local bag limits before heading out.
Cape Greko & Famagusta Coast

Characterized by dramatic sea caves, sheer limestone cliffs, and crystal-clear visibility, Cape Greko provides an exceptional underwater playground for hunters. The deep blue drop-offs and complex cave systems attract pelagics and larger reef fish.
Access. Shore diving is possible from designated paths around the cape, while boat-based spearfishing trips can be arranged through independent local skippers operating out of Ayia Napa and Protaras.
Notes. Cape Greko is a designated nature conservation area; spearfishing is strictly prohibited within core marine reserve zones. Check exact boundaries with local authorities and secure a state fishing license.
Limassol Coastal Waters

The Limassol coastline features artificial reefs, sunken wrecks, and mixed sand-and-rock structures that pull in diverse marine life. Spearfishermen frequently work the edges of these structures and deeper offshore banks for migrating species.
Access. Boat charters are available from Limassol Marina, where local skippers accommodate spearfishers looking to reach offshore reefs and wrecks.
