The vibe

Houbihu is a well-known bay within the national park offering extensive coral gardens and a wide variety of tropical fish. The area is protected, resulting in a thriving marine environment that is easily accessible from the shore.
Access. Easily reached by car or scooter within Kenting National Park; numerous local operators provide gear rentals and guided snorkel tours.
Notes. Marine park regulations apply; snorkelers must stay within designated zones to protect the coral.
Penghu Islands (Baisha)

The Penghu archipelago features clear, turquoise waters surrounding its many islands, with several shallow reef areas ideal for snorkeling. The marine biodiversity here is distinct, influenced by the surrounding currents and rocky volcanic coastline.
Access. Accessible by flight or ferry from mainland Taiwan; boat excursions are required to reach the best snorkeling spots around the smaller outer islands.
Notes. Seasonal winds (northeast monsoon) can make water conditions choppy; best visited during the summer months.

Access. Accessible by ferry from Donggang; most visitors rent scooters to reach the various snorkeling beaches around the island.
Notes. Touching or disturbing sea turtles is strictly prohibited and heavily fined by local authorities.
