Notes. Remote area with virtually no tourist infrastructure; visitors must bring all supplies and arrange permits through authorized local operators in Massawa.
Dissei Island

Dissei boasts protected bays and shallow reef flats ideal for relaxed snorkeling. The clear water hosts a wide variety of reef fish and well-preserved coral heads away from any mass tourism.
Access. Accessible by boat charters or traditional dhow excursions running out of Massawa.
Notes. Tides can occasionally create strong currents around the island channels; check local sea conditions before entering.
