Bhutan is an emerging frontier for high-altitude ski touring, offering pristine, untouched snow in the shadow of the Himalayas. This is strictly a destination for experienced backcountry enthusiasts seeking remote, non-resort terrain in a culturally rich environment.
Access. Access is via Paro International Airport; travel to high-altitude regions requires a licensed Bhutanese tour operator and experienced mountain guides. There are no lift-serviced resorts.
Notes. Extreme altitude and high avalanche risk; professional guides and permits are mandatory for all snow activities in Bhutan.
