You will find the experience largely DIY, as you navigate the island at your own pace without the pressure of heavy tour groups.

Operating since 1785, this is the oldest functioning water-powered distillery in the Caribbean. Visitors can tour the historic grounds to witness traditional, centuries-old rum production methods that remain largely unchanged, making it a unique industrial heritage site.
Access. Located in the northern part of the island; best reached by rental car or as part of a guided island tour.
Notes. Guided tours are mandatory and highly informative. The site is rustic and authentic, not a modern commercial attraction.
