As one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest that once stretched across the European Plain, this UNESCO site is a sanctuary for European bison. Travelers visit to experience the ancient woodland atmosphere and the unique wildlife heritage of the region.
Access. Located near the border with Poland; accessible by bus from Brest.
Notes. Guided tours are recommended to see the bison enclosures and learn about the forest's ecology.
Brest Hero Fortress

This massive Soviet-era memorial complex commemorates the 1941 defense of the fortress during World War II. Its monumental architecture, including the iconic 'Courage' statue, creates a somber and powerful atmosphere that is a central part of the Belarusian national identity.
Access. Located in the city of Brest, within walking distance of the city center or a short taxi ride from the train station.
Notes. The site is expansive; plan for several hours to visit the various museums and the main memorial area.
Mir Castle Complex

A stunning 16th-century fortification, the Mir Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles. Visitors can explore the well-preserved interiors, climb the defensive towers, and stroll through the expansive surrounding parkland.
Access. Located about 100km from Minsk, it is easily reached by bus or private car as a popular day trip.
Notes. The castle grounds are open year-round, but the interior museum exhibits have specific operating hours.

The former residence of the Radziwill family, this grand palace complex is a masterpiece of European architecture set amidst picturesque lakes and landscaped gardens. Access. Accessible by bus or train from Minsk; it is often combined with a visit to Mir Castle.

Saint Sophia Cathedral, Polotsk
