The Curonian Lagoon is a large, shallow, and sheltered lagoon separated from the Baltic Sea by the Curonian Spit. It is a premier inland sailing destination in Lithuania, offering steady winds and calm waters ideal for cruising and regattas.
Access. Nida and Ventė are the primary hubs for sailing charters and yacht clubs. Visitors can rent keelboats or join local sailing clubs for excursions across the lagoon.
Notes. Best from June to August. Shallow waters require careful navigation near the sandbanks. No specific skipper license required for small recreational craft, but local knowledge is recommended.
