Sailing these waters is a serious expedition for experienced mariners rather than a leisurely charter holiday. The conditions are most manageable during the calmer dry season, though the lack of marinas and support services makes long-distance coastal navigation demanding. You are entirely on your own, as there is no established sailing community or infrastructure for visiting yachts.

An island-hopping cruising ground set in the southern waters near the Gabonese border. Sailors explore the shallow bay, surrounding sandbars, and the small island of Corisco with its historical sites and coconut palms.
Access. Reached via boat charters departing from mainland coastal towns or Kogo.
Notes. Tidal currents around the river mouths and sandbars require careful navigation.
