Notes. Best paddled from May to October. Watch for afternoon sea breezes and boat traffic near the harbor.

Navigate the scenic stretches of Lebanon's longest river as it carves through deep agricultural valleys and dramatic limestone gorges. Whitewater and touring kayakers tackle select navigable sections depending on seasonal flows. The surrounding Chouf scenery creates a wild river backdrop.
Access. Access requires local logistical planning via Lebanese whitewater groups or specialized river guides.
Notes. Strictly for experienced paddlers due to variable flows, dams, and remote canyon sections. Spring is the primary high-water season.
Nahr el-Kalb Estuary

Paddle where the historic Nahr el-Kalb (Dog River) meets the Mediterranean Sea. This short river and estuary paddle combines lush freshwater riverbanks with coastal sea-touring beneath ancient cliff inscriptions. It provides a distinct mix of river and salt-water paddling.
Access. Put-ins are located near the river mouth, with local adventure outfitters providing seasonal kayak rentals.
Notes. Water levels vary significantly between winter runoff and dry summer months.
Tyre Coast Nature Reserve

Glide through the protected sandy beaches and freshwater springs of the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve. This coastal sanctuary provides a serene sea-kayak route past dunes and diverse marine habitats. It is one of the cleanest stretches of southern Lebanese coastline.
