Kayaking here is strictly a sea-based affair, demanding a high level of fitness to navigate the open ocean swells that define this archipelago. The best time to paddle is during the calmer spring days when the winds die down and the water surface becomes manageable. It is an entirely DIY affair, as there are very few organized rental operations, meaning you are responsible for your own safety and equipment.
