Kayaking offers an intimate way to weave through the labyrinth of mangroves and narrow channels that define the island geography. It is best done in the early morning hours when the winds are light and the water is perfectly still. The experience feels very DIY, allowing you to paddle away from the main hubs and find your own quiet corner of the archipelago.

The North Sound is a protected, island-studded body of water that serves as a premier destination for sea kayaking in the BVI. Paddlers can navigate between Mosquito Island, Prickly Pear, and Eustatia Sound, enjoying calm, turquoise waters and access to secluded beaches.
Access. Kayak rentals and guided eco-tours are available through local outfitters based at Bitter End Yacht Club and Leverick Bay.
Notes. Best paddled in the morning to avoid trade winds; suitable for all skill levels due to the protected nature of the sound.
