Hiking in United Arab Emirates
Including Jebel Hafeet, Jebel Jais Mountain Trails, and Wadi Shis. On the map.
The vibe
Jagged limestone ridges rise sharply from empty gravel plains, offering an unexpectedly rugged trek under vast desert skies. The cooler months between November and February draw walkers out into the dry canyons and high rocky ridges. It feels mostly DIY and quiet once you leave the trailheads, though certain maintained paths require a small park fee.
