There is no established training scene or buoy culture here, leaving you to explore the depths entirely on your own terms.

As one of the world's largest alpine lakes, Issyk-Kul offers unique high-altitude freediving conditions with significant depth and crystal-clear visibility. Freedivers utilize the deep, calm water columns for training in a serene, mountain-framed environment.
Access. Local freediving clubs based in Cholpon-Ata and Bishkek organize seasonal training sessions and depth workshops at the lake's deeper northern and southern shore points.
Notes. High altitude requires careful equalization and surface interval management. Water temperatures can be cold, requiring appropriate thermal protection.
