Breath-hold diving here is a niche pursuit practiced by a small handful of dedicated local underwater enthusiasts rather than visiting travelers. You head out with private contacts to deeper offshore drop-offs during the calmer winter sea conditions. There is virtually no tourist infrastructure or dedicated freediving center to cater to drop-in visitors.

Kubbar Island offers clear turquoise waters and a surrounding coral fringe, making it the most popular offshore spot for recreational breath-hold diving in Kuwait. Freedivers come here to explore shallow reef topography and practice open-water sessions away from the mainland. The island provides a vibrant marine environment with decent visibility during favorable weather conditions.
Access. Accessible primarily via private boat charters or organized local water-sports excursions departing from mainland marinas such as Fahaheel or Mangaf.
Notes. Strong tidal currents can occur around the island edges; boat traffic from recreational vessels requires vigilance at the surface.
