The vibe
Deep vertical drops and kelp forests provide a moody, Atlantic-styled training ground for breath-hold diving. The months spanning summer and early autumn offer the most comfortable water temperatures and manageable surface conditions. This is a low-key, independent pursuit where you check the tides yourself and train without commercial crowds.

Fermain Bay features a clean, rocky seabed with excellent visibility on calm days, making it a popular choice for local breath-hold practitioners. The bay provides a controlled environment for practicing technique while observing the diverse marine life typical of the Bailiwick.
Access. Accessible by a short hike down from the cliff path or by boat; the local freediving community often coordinates sessions here during the summer months.
Notes. Boat traffic can be present near the bay entrance; use a high-visibility buoy at all times.
