Freediving here is essentially non-existent as a recreational scene, and the challenging coastal conditions make it an impractical choice for a visitor. There are no clubs or training facilities to support the activity. You would be entirely on your own in an environment not suited for breath-hold exploration.

The coastal waters off Kribi offer a unique opportunity for freedivers to explore the Atlantic shelf where the forest meets the sea. The area features sandy bottoms and rocky outcrops that provide a calm environment for breath-hold training and underwater photography in the clear season.
Access. Freedivers can connect with local water-sports organizers in Kribi who facilitate coastal boat trips to the Lobe waterfall vicinity and nearby reefs. It is recommended to contact local community-led marine groups for guided breath-hold sessions.
Notes. Be mindful of seasonal river runoff which can impact visibility; best conditions are during the dry season.
