The vibe
The calm, clear waters provide a serene platform for breath-hold exploration. Late spring and early autumn offer stable conditions ideal for freediving. Freedivers often bring their own gear and dive solo or in small groups, keeping the vibe local.

Offering a unique high-altitude freediving experience, the crystal-clear, deep waters of Lake Titicaca provide a serene environment for breath-hold training. Freedivers visit this site to practice in cold, still conditions surrounded by the dramatic Andean landscape.
Access. Access is via local freediving clubs based in La Paz that organize expeditions to the Copacabana shores for specialized altitude training sessions.
Notes. Extreme altitude requires careful acclimatization; water temperatures are consistently low, necessitating thick thermal wetsuits.
