It is widely considered one of the premier saltwater fly-fishing destinations on the planet due to its vast, shallow, and pristine ecosystem.
Access. Access is primarily via guided skiff charters departing from Punta Allen. Visitors typically fly into Cancun and take a ground transfer to the remote village.
Notes. A fishing license is required for all recreational fishing in Mexico. Catch and release is strictly practiced by all reputable local guides to preserve the permit and bonefish populations.

The convergence of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez creates one of the most productive sportfishing zones in the world. Anglers target dorado, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, and the iconic striped marlin.
Access. Extensive fleet of professional charter boats operates out of the Cabo San Lucas marina. Shore fishing is also popular along the rocky points and beaches of the Tourist Corridor.

Magdalena Bay is a massive coastal lagoon system famous for its incredible offshore and inshore action, particularly the world-class striped marlin bite in the fall. The mangroves and channels also offer excellent snook and grouper fishing.
Access. Charters are the standard mode of access, departing primarily from Puerto San Carlos or Puerto Lopez Mateos. It is a more rugged, remote experience compared to Cabo San Lucas.

Access. Accessible by car from Cancun or Chetumal. Fishing is done via local panga charters or by wading the accessible flats directly from the shore.
