Formed by the Manantali Dam on the Bafing River, this large reservoir holds abundant populations of Nile perch, catfish and tilapia. The open water and shoreline provide opportunities for both boat‑based trolling and shore casting.
Access. Several local tour operators in the nearby town of Bafoulabé offer day‑trip boat charters and equipment hire; anglers can also fish from the public shoreline.
Notes. A fishing permit for the reservoir is issued by the Ministry of Fisheries in Bafoulabé; fishing is allowed year‑round, with peak catches during the post‑rainy season (July‑October).
