Access. Accessible by car or bus from Baku (approx. 3.5 hours); most major wineries operate their own tasting rooms and visitor centers.
Notes. Year-round destination, though summer and autumn offer the best weather for vineyard tours.
Goygol Wine Region

Located near the scenic Goygol Lake, this region benefits from high-altitude conditions perfect for producing crisp, high-quality wines. It is home to some of the country's oldest wine production facilities, blending Soviet-era industrial heritage with modern viticulture.
Access. Located about an hour from Ganja; visitors can reach the area by car and book tours at the historic Goygol Wine Plant.
Notes. Combine with a visit to the nearby Goygol National Park.
Shamakhi Wine Region

Shamakhi is the historical heart of Azerbaijani winemaking, known for its unique microclimate and the indigenous Madrasa grape variety. Travelers visit to explore modern boutique wineries and historic vineyards nestled in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus.
Access. Accessible via a 2-hour drive from Baku; many wineries offer guided tours and tasting packages that can be booked in advance.
Notes. Best visited during the harvest season in September and October.
