Access. A scenic 2-3 hour drive from Yerevan, often combined with visits to Dilijan National Park.

Vayots Dzor Wine Region

Known as the cradle of winemaking, this high-altitude region is home to the Areni grape and the world's oldest known winery site. Travelers visit for the rugged mountain landscapes and the chance to taste ancient varietals in intimate, family-run boutique wineries.
Access. Accessible via a 2-3 hour drive from Yerevan, with most wineries clustered around the villages of Areni and Aghavnadzor.
Notes. Best visited from late spring to early autumn; harvest season in September and October is particularly vibrant.
