The vibe
Scuba diving is virtually non-existent here as a recreational visitor activity due to a complete lack of dive shops, compressor stations, and charter boats. Local waters are geared entirely toward commercial and artisanal fishing rather than underwater exploration. Trying to dive here means bringing all your own equipment and relying on local pirogues without any structured support.

Access. Access is highly restricted and requires arranging private expedition charters from Conakry, as there are no established commercial dive shops on the islands.
