The vibe
Winding mountain roads climb steeply, making you feel like you’re pedalling through a giant amphitheater of peaks. Cooler dry weather is ideal, as rain turns the routes into slippery messes. Riders usually bring their own bikes and tackle the terrain DIY, with occasional guided rides but generally a low‑key, off‑road vibe.

A network of remote shepherd paths, rough dirt tracks, and rocky descents surrounding the spectacular Maletsunyane Waterfall. This rugged plateau region is a prime destination for rugged mountain biking and remote gravel exploring.
Access. Reached via gravel roads from Maseru to Semonkong Lodge, which acts as a hub for local adventure riding and gear support.
Notes. High altitude (over 2,000m), remote with limited services, requiring self-sufficiency and puncture-resistant tires.
