Cycling in Isle of Man
Including Isle of Man TT Course and Mountain Road. On the map.
The vibe
Riding the rolling interior roads and old railway paths gives a classic British cycling feel, though you have to share the tarmac with spirited motorists during peak racing seasons. Late spring offers long, dry daylight hours that are ideal for tackling the steep inland climbs without battling coastal winds. The scene is a mix of serious club cyclists and visiting tourers, feeling friendly and entirely self-guided.

Challenge yourself on the legendary 37.75-mile TT Mountain Course, featuring iconic climbs like Snaefell and sweeping coastal descents. This world-famous road circuit offers demanding ascents and high-speed pavement testing cyclists from across the globe.
Access. Accessible via ferry or flight to Douglas; bike rentals and local cycling shops are available in Douglas and Ramsey.
Notes. Best ridden outside of TT race weeks when roads are open to regular traffic. High winds on mountain sections demand caution.
