The vibe
Cycling here is a test of endurance against steep, winding mountain roads that demand constant attention to traffic and narrow shoulders. The cooler, drier months of early spring offer the most comfortable riding conditions before the intense heat of summer sets in. It is very much a local, rugged experience where you share the road with minibuses and heavy trucks rather than enjoying dedicated cycling infrastructure.

A challenging and scenic circumnavigation of the 'Spice Isle,' featuring steep volcanic climbs and lush tropical rainforest descents. Riders navigate winding coastal roads that offer dramatic views of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Access. Bike rentals and guided tours are available in St. George's and Grand Anse. The island is compact, allowing for day-trip segments or a multi-day circumnavigation.
Notes. Best ridden between January and May. Expect significant elevation gain and tropical humidity. E-bikes are highly recommended for the steep terrain.
