The vibe
Vertical limestone faces and weathered pockets present raw, unpolished adventures rather than a bustling resort crag scene. The climbing season peaks during the cooler winter months when the desert sun drops to a manageable warmth. You will mostly find a grassroots, self-sufficient vibe among small groups hauling their own gear to the remote roadside boulders.

A unique bouldering area featuring sandstone outcrops near Al Ain. It is a popular spot for local and visiting boulderers to enjoy technical problems on distinct, weathered rock formations.
Access. Located near the city of Al Ain; easily accessible by car from Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Ideal for winter bouldering sessions.
Notes. The rock is softer than the limestone of the north; bouldering pads are essential. Please respect the archaeological significance of the surrounding area.

A spectacular canyon environment featuring massive limestone walls and deep, winding gorges. It is a destination for those seeking adventurous sport climbing in a remote, high-walled desert setting.
Access. Located in the northernmost part of Ras Al Khaimah; 4x4 vehicle recommended for the approach. Best visited in the winter months.
Notes. Routes are primarily sport, though the area is known for its rugged, wild character. Always check local weather for flash flood risks in the wadi.
