The vibe
The limestone cliffs rise sharply from the sea, offering a raw, sea‑sprayed crag experience unlike the granite walls elsewhere. Climbing is most enjoyable in the dry, cooler months of late autumn to early spring when the rock stays dry. The scene is low‑key, mostly local climbers with a few adventurous visitors sharing the wall.

Annaya offers exceptional limestone climbing nestled in the high mountains of Mount Lebanon near the famous monastery. The sector features technical vertical faces and sustained endurance routes developed by local climbing communities.
Access. Drive north from Beirut toward Byblos (Jbeil), then ascend winding mountain roads up to Annaya. Accessible spring through autumn; winter brings cold temperatures and snow.
Notes. Elevation provides welcome relief from coastal summer heat, though spring and autumn offer optimal friction.
