The vibe
There is no established climbing culture or bolted crag network here, leaving limestone cliffs largely untouched save for old quarry scars and local goat paths. Anyone bringing a rack must accept complete self-reliance on remote walls with zero local gear shops or beta. It is raw exploration far from any dedicated climbing destination.

Access. Located near the resort town of Rawanduz, accessible via the Hamilton Road from Erbil. Visitors should coordinate with local climbing clubs in Erbil for access to specific crags and logistics.
Notes. High elevation makes it a cooler alternative to the lowlands during summer, though winter brings significant snow.
