The vibe
Climbing here is not a mainstream activity, and you will find very little in the way of established sport routes or a developed cragging culture. It is a niche pursuit for those who bring their own gear and are comfortable seeking out limestone formations on their own. If you do find a wall, expect a quiet, DIY experience far from any crowds.
Battambang Limestone Crags

Located near the temple of Phnom Sampeau, this area features limestone karst formations with a variety of bolted sport routes. It serves as a unique climbing destination in western Cambodia, offering a mix of vertical faces and pockets.
Access. The crags are accessed via a short drive from Battambang city. Local climbing development is supported by community-based initiatives; climbers should check with local guides or the 'Cambodia Climbing' community for current route status and gear rental.
Notes. Routes are primarily sport-bolted; bring your own quickdraws and rope as gear rental is limited in the immediate vicinity.

Located near the southern coast of Cambodia, these limestone karst formations offer a unique tropical sport climbing experience. The area features a variety of bolted routes set against a backdrop of lush countryside and pepper plantations.
Access. Access is via the town of Kampot, which serves as the primary base for climbers. Local climbing shops and guides in Kampot provide gear rental and route information for the nearby crags.
Notes. Best climbed during the cooler dry season from November to February; humidity is high year-round.
