The vibe
There is no established rock climbing culture here, as the landscape is dominated by soft, sedimentary terrain and dense jungle rather than climbable cliffs. You will not find any routes or cragging infrastructure for visitors to utilize.

Tasek Merimbun offers a unique, albeit niche, limestone climbing environment within Brunei's largest lake area. It is a destination for climbers looking to explore the rugged karst formations of the Tutong District, which are increasingly being developed for sport climbing.
Access. Located in the Tutong District, it is accessible by road from Bandar Seri Begawan. Climbers typically bring their own gear as there are no dedicated rental shops on-site, and local climbing clubs in Brunei are the best resource for current route information.
