Access. Accessible by car or marshrutka from Bishkek or Karakol; requires a short walk from the main road to reach the water's edge.
Notes. Facilities are more limited here compared to the northern shore.

Tamchy is known for having some of the most pleasant sandy stretches along the northern coast of Issyk-Kul. It provides a more relaxed, village-style atmosphere compared to the busier resort towns, with a wide shoreline perfect for sunbathing.
Access. Accessible via the main highway circling the lake; local transport and taxis from the airport or Bishkek are common.
