The vibe
The coastline feels raw, with waves crashing against unspoiled sand and a scattering of fishing villages. The best time is the dry season from November to April when the sea is calmer and the skies are clear. Visitors find the area quiet, with a few local inns and a handful of tourists, but no large resorts.

Famed as one of the longest unbroken natural sandy sea beaches in the world, stretching over 120 kilometers along the Bay of Bengal. The expansive golden-brown shore offers gentle slope entry, energetic waves, and vibrant local beach culture with vibrant sunset views.
Access. Easily accessible directly from Cox's Bazar town with numerous resort strips, hotels, and vibrant beach chair rentals lining the upper shore.
Notes. Can get very crowded during peak local holiday seasons; watch out for occasional strong undertows.
Inani Beach

A scenic, quieter stretch located a short drive south of Cox's Bazar, distinguished by its unique coral rock formations and golden sands. The juxtaposition of the reef rocks and the clear blue water makes it a dramatic spot for shoreline walks and wading.
Access. Accessible by road via a scenic coastal drive from Cox's Bazar, usually visited as a day trip or taxi ride.
Notes. Sharp coral rocks require caution when walking or swimming near the shoreline.
Kuakata Sea Beach

Known locally as 'Sagar Kannya' (Daughter of the Sea), this unique southern beach is famous for offering unobstructed panoramic views of both sunrise and sunset from the same sandy stretch. The wide, gently sloping beach features compact golden-tan sand and calm shallow waters.
Access. Reached via road transport from Barisal or Dhaka, often involving ferry crossings and a scenic drive to the southern tip of the country.
Saint Martin's Island Beach

Bangladesh's only coral island features pristine turquoise water, white-to-beige coral sand beaches, and swaying coconut palms. The shallow, clear waters surrounding the island provide some of the best conditions for swimming and beach relaxation in the country.
Access. Accessible by sea cruise ships, speedboats, or local wooden vessels from Teknaf or Cox's Bazar during the dry winter season.
Notes. Tourism is seasonal and strictly regulated by environmental authorities to protect local coral and turtle nesting sites.
