The vibe
Armenia is landlocked, so there are no sea beaches to visit. The only shoreline experiences are on lake shores, which feel more like a park promenade than a beach. Visitors looking for sand and surf simply won’t find it here.

Located on the shores of Armenia's massive high-altitude Lake Sevan, this beach offers a unique freshwater swimming experience against a backdrop of ancient monastery architecture. The water is crisp and refreshing, making it a popular summer retreat for locals and travelers looking to escape the heat.
Access. Easily accessible by car from Yerevan, about a one-hour drive; the area features various public and private beach sections near the peninsula.
Notes. The water temperature remains quite cool even in mid-summer due to the lake's high elevation.

Shorzha is known for having some of the cleanest and most tranquil stretches of shoreline along Lake Sevan. It offers a more secluded vibe compared to the busier peninsula areas, with wide sandy banks perfect for sunbathing.
Access. Accessible by car or train from Yerevan; it is located on the eastern side of the lake, offering a quieter atmosphere.
