The vibe
Thrill-seeking here takes the form of paddling twisting amber rivers in inflatable rafts or navigating muddy ATV tracks through dense timberlands. Spring high waters give the best push for river runs, while autumn adds a rugged chill to forest obstacles. The scene feels entirely do-it-yourself and unpolished, far removed from heavily packaged commercial adventure parks.

The sandy dunes and steady sea breezes along Jūrmala’s Baltic coast create ideal launch conditions for paragliders. Schools operate from the beach cliffs, offering tandem flights and beginner courses with views of the Gulf of Riga.
Access. Season runs May‑September; book through Jūrmala Paragliding Center. No prior experience needed for tandem flights; solo pilots must hold a valid Latvian or EU paragliding licence.
Notes. Wind can be gusty; flights are cancelled in storms. Beginners should be comfortable with heights and basic safety gear.
Līgatne Adventure Park Zipline

Līgatne Adventure Park features a network of zipline cables that soar over pine forests and the River Līgatne, offering a high‑speed canopy experience. The park’s longest line stretches over 800 m, delivering adrenaline and scenic views.
Access. Operates April to October; tickets and group bookings are handled on‑site or via the park’s website. Participants must meet a minimum weight and age requirement and complete a brief safety briefing.
Notes. Lines are closed in high winds or heavy rain. Proper footwear and a willingness to climb a short platform are required.
