Csobánc Hill

Located in the Tapolca Basin, Csobánc is a prominent volcanic butte featuring the challenging 'Tátika' via ferrata route. It offers adventurous climbers a vertical ascent with panoramic views of the Balaton Uplands National Park.
Access. Accessible via a short hike from the village of Gyulakeszi; equipment rental is available in nearby Tapolca or Balatonfüred.
Notes. Requires basic via ferrata gear and experience; the route is exposed and can be windy.
Tatabánya Turul

The Tatabánya via ferrata park is built into the limestone cliffs near the iconic Turul monument. It provides several routes of varying difficulty, making it a primary destination for iron-path climbing in Northern Hungary.
Access. Easily reached from Budapest by train or car; the routes are located a short walk from the Turul statue parking area.
Notes. Routes are graded by difficulty; helmets and harnesses are mandatory and available for rent on-site.

The Upper Tisza, particularly near the border with Ukraine, is known for its scenic and moderately challenging river trips. While primarily a destination for water touring, it is the premier region in Hungary for organized rafting experiences during high-water seasons.
Access. Best accessed from the town of Vásárosnamény; numerous local adventure tour operators organize seasonal rafting excursions.
