The Fouta Djallon region is a dramatic landscape of deep canyons, plateaus, and waterfalls that serves as the primary hub for whitewater rafting in Guinea. Travelers navigate the powerful currents of the Bafing and Tinkisso rivers, which cut through the rugged highland terrain.
Access. Access is typically arranged through specialized adventure tour operators based in Conakry or Labé. The best season for rafting is during the high-water period following the rainy season, generally from August to November.
