The Cahabón River offers some of the most challenging and scenic whitewater rafting in Central America, winding through lush tropical canyons near Lanquín. The river features consistent Class III and IV rapids that provide an intense, adrenaline-filled experience for adventure seekers.
Access. Trips are typically organized by adventure outfitters based in Lanquín or Semuc Champey. It is recommended to book multi-day or full-day excursions in advance during the rainy season for higher water levels.
Notes. Water levels vary significantly by season; best rafting is generally after the start of the rainy season.

Lake Atitlán is a premier paragliding destination where pilots launch from the high ridges surrounding the caldera to soar over the deep blue lake and its three iconic volcanoes. The thermal conditions created by the unique topography offer spectacular cross-country flying opportunities for experienced pilots and tandem flights for visitors.
Access. Tandem flights are easily booked through operators based in Panajachel or Santa Cruz La Laguna. The best flying season is during the dry months from November to April.

Located near Antigua, the Pacaya region features high-altitude zipline circuits that allow travelers to glide through forests with views of active volcanic landscapes. These courses are designed to provide a unique vantage point of the surrounding highlands and volcanic peaks.
