Access. Access is strictly via organized 4x4 expeditions departing from N'Djamena, typically requiring a multi-day journey with local guides and specialized support vehicles. Travelers should book through established Saharan tour operators who handle logistics, permits, and desert navigation.
Notes. Extreme temperatures and remote isolation require high levels of self-sufficiency and preparation. Travel is only feasible during the cooler months between November and February.
